The roots of Leer Electric, Inc. date back to 1929 when Merle Cook started an electrical company in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. Steve Leer bought the small prosperous company in 1973 and initially ran it from a spare room in his home. In 1985, Leer incorporated and moved to its present headquarters in Dillsburg. In 1991, Leer was one of four electrical contractors responsible for establishing the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the IEC. Leer has had many graduates from the four year apprenticeship program, and it is a source of pride that many of these graduates are now Superintendents in the field. Since the early years, Leer Electric has gone through tremendous change and growth, all thanks to the community and customers we have been privileged to serve. Steve has always promoted innovative ideas and forward thinking. Despite its steady and rapid growth, Leer maintained its family-owned atmosphere in the office. As a result of all this, Steve has successfully guided this small electrical contracting business to become one of the biggest electrical contractor in Central Pennsylvania.
